Returning a product under the WEEE Regulations.

What do the WEEE regulations mean?

WEEE (The Waste Electrical and electronic Equipment) Directive is UK law that governs the disposal and recycling of all electrical items. The law, introduced in 2014, puts the emphasis on the producers and suppliers of electrical equipment to pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electricals.

As a retailer that sells new Electrical and Electronic products we will take back old items, provided it is a like-for-like replacement when you buy a new product from us. We will then responsibly dispose of the old product ensuring that it doesn’t end up in landfill.

Old products must be returned directly to our shop or head office (details below) within 28 days of your new purchase, clearly marked as WEEE.

Disposing of equipment yourself

If you choose not to send your equipment back to us for disposal then you can dispose of any electricals or electronics yourself at your local recycling centre, who will dispose of your equipment via a controlled recycling process.

What products fall under WEEE Regulations?

As part of the WEEE regulations, all electrical and electronic goods produced after August 2005 that fall under WEEE regulations should be clearly marked with a crossed-out bin symbol which means they should not be included with household waste so that they can be recycled

As a responsible retailer we take all steps possible to ensure that our business meets all requirements of any EU & UK consumer protection laws, particularly the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation & Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and other legislation specific to the products that we sell.

  • Bergamont Helix 5 2020 Hybrid Bike - Anthracite/Black review by Jason, on 02/10/2020

    5
I got this through the Cycle2Work scheme and absolutely love this bike. It was larger than I was expecting (I have the 52cm version) but this was deceiving and I comfortably fit on the bike, I am 178cm tall. I have had the bike for 2 months and have taken it on road, canal path, greenways and also part of the Pennine Way. It copes very well although there are limits to how much off road can be done, it is after all a hybrid with just 63mm front suspension (can be locked for road use), so no leaping off ledges etc. I live in the Pennines and cant escape that hill climbs are a necessity (just to get home) but the bike is geared well for this relatively unfit human to get up them. On the road, do expect to be overtaken by those on road and gravel bikes, although once you are off road you will see that this bike has a good balance of abilities and it does excel at mucky paths, cobbled climbs, and lighter out of the way tracks. I has mounting points for mudguards and pannier racks, although I have not used these. I understand they come fitted if you get the EQ version.
